Symptom
When attempting to use an existing merge document, such as a Letter, the following error is returned:
Cause
This error relates to the path that the system is attempting to access or record in the product. Currently the path can be no longer than 40 characters total.
If you are trying to add a merge document path to the Letter table or attempting to select a merge document to merge into, the path is too long for the system to read. See the example below of a path that is excessive in length:
Resolution
Move the merge document so that it resides in a directory structure that results in a shorter "path''.
