Symptom
When entering a known employer name in the Employer Name field on the Volunteer card, user receives message:
“No Constituents by that name were found. Would you like to add this constituent now?”
Cause

The employer record in the database must be an Organization type record, if an individual record; the search will not search those record types.

If the employer record is an Organization record type, then “Include in Browse and Quick Gift Name Search” box is unchecked on the Org’s preferred name card.
Resolution

Change the record type on the individual record to Organization and the name will be found.

Check the “Include in Browse and Quick Gift Name Search” box on the preferred name card and Save Changes.
Additional Information
The same principle logic applies to the Professional Experience Resume Card when searching for Organization ID by name.
